A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS, DIRECTING THE PREPARATION OF A SERVICE PLAN FOR THE
ANNEXATION OF APPROXIMATELY 608 ACRES OF LAND IN
THE CITY'S EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION, INCLUDING ALL
UNINCORPORATED PROPERTY BETWEEN INTERSTATE 10 TO THE
NORTH, EAST CEDAR BAYOU-LYNCHBURG ROAD TO THE SOUTH,
NORTH MAIN STREET ON THE EAST AND GARTH ROAD ON THE
WEST, AS WELL AS THE LAND IN THE CITY'S EXTRATERRITORIAL
JURISDICTION LOCATED APPROXIMATELY 500 FEET EAST OF NORTH
MAIN STREET BETWEEN INTERSTATE 10 AND EAST CEDAR BAYOU-
LYNCHBURG ROAD, IN HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS; AND PROVIDING
FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, Section 43.065 of the Texas Local Government Code provides that before
the publication of the notice of the first public hearing, the City Council shall direct the City's
Planning and Development Services Department to prepare a service plan that provides for the
extension of full municipal services to the area to be annexed; and
WHEREAS, the proposed annexation of the following described property within the
City's extraterritorial jurisdiction contains fewer than 100 separate tracts of land on which one or
more residential dwellings are located on each tract:
608 acres of land in the City's extraterritorial jurisdiction, including all
unincorporated property between Interstate 10 to the north, East Cedar Bayou-
Lynchburg Road to the south, North Main Street on the east and Garth Road on
the west, as well as the land in the Ctiy's extraterritorial jurisdiction located
approximately 500 feet east of North Main Street between Interstate 10 and East
Cedar Bayou-Lynchburg Road; and
WHEREAS, because the proposed annexation contains fewer than 100 separate tracts of
land on which one or more residential dwellings are located on each tract, the proposed
annexation is not required to be a part of the City's annexation plan;NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby authorizes
and directs the City's Planning and Development Services Department to prepare a service plan
that provides for the extension of full municipal services to the area to be annexed as described
hereinabove and which is more particularly described in Exhibit "A," which is attached hereto
and incorporated herein for all intent and purposes.
Section 2: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by
the City Council of the City of Baytown.
