A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE APPLICATION TO THE U. S.
DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY FOR A FY2011 HOUSTON URBAN
AREA SECURITY INITIATIVE (UASI) GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF EIGHT
HUNDRED TEN THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED THIRTY-FIVE AND N01100
DOLLARS ($810,135.00) FOR THE PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT TO ENHANCE
BOMB SQUAD CAPABILITIES AND INTEROPERABILITY; AUTHORIZING THE
REPRESENTATIVE TO ACCEPTOR AFFIRM ANY GRANT AWARD THAT MAY
RESULT THEREFROM; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE
THEREOF.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to make
application to the U. S. Department of Homeland Security for a FY201 1 Houston Urban Area Security
Initiative (UASI) Grant in the amount of EIGHT HUNDRED TEN THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED
THIRTY-FIVE AND N01100 DOLLARS ($810,135.00) for the purchase of equipment to enhance bomb
squad capabilities and interoperability.
Section 2: That the City Manager is hereby designated as the authorized representative for
all purposes under the grant.
Section 3: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to accept or
affirm any grant award that may result frorn (lie above application.
Section 4: This resolution shall take effect immediately fropfi nd after its passage by the
City Council of the City of Baytown.
