A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF Tl-lE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,.
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE APPLICATION TO THE U. S.
DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY FOR A FY2011 PORT SECURITY
GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF SIX HUNDRED EIGHTY-FOUR THOUSAND NINE
HUNDRED TWENTY-THREE AND NOI100 DOLLARS ($684,923,00) FOR THE
PURCHASE OF A REGIONAL MOBILE INCIDENT COMMAND VEHICLE FOR.
USE BY THE CITY'S PUBLIC SAFETY AGENCIES AND TO UPDATE AND
ENHANCE BOMB SQUAD UNDERWATER RESPONSE EQUIPMENT;
AUTHORIZING THE REPRESENTATIVE TO ACCEPT OR AFFIRM ANY GRANT
AWARD THAT MAY RESULT THEREFROM; AND PROVIDING FOR THE
EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to make
application to the U. S. Department of Homeland Security for a FY2011 Port Security Grant in the
amount of SIX HUNDRED EIGHTY-FOUR THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED TWENTY-THREE AND
NO1100 DOLLARS ($684,923.00) for the purchase of a regional mobile incident command vehicle for
use by the City's Public Safety Agencies and to update and enhance Bomb Squad underwater response
equipment.
Section 2: That the City Manager is hereby designated as the authorized representative for
ail purposes under the grant.
Section 3: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to accept or
affirm any grant award that may result from the above application.
Section 4: This resolution shall take effect immediately m and after its passage by the
City Council of the City of Baytown.
