RESOLUTION NO. 1864
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,
AUTHORIZING THE INTERIM CITY MANAGER TO MAKE APPLICATION TO THE STATE
HAZARD MITIGATION GRANT PROGRAM FOR A GRANT FOR FOUR HAZARD
MITIGATION PROJECTS IN THE AMOUNT OF FOUR MILLION SIX HUNDRED FORTY-
THREE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED EIGHT AND 75/100 DOLLARS ($4,643,208.75);
AUTHORIZING THE CITY'S MATCH IN THE AMOUNT OF ONE MILLION FIVE
HUNDRED FORTY-SEVEN THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED THIRTY-FIVE AND 25/100
DOLLARS ($1,547,735.25); DESIGNATING AN AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE;
AUTHORIZING THE REPRESENTATIVE TO ACCEPTOR AFFIRM ANY GRANT AWARD
THAT MAY RESULT THEREFROM; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE
THEREOF.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS:
Section 1: That the Interim City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to make
application to the State Hazard Mitigation Grant Program for a grant for the following hazard mitigation projects:
Cost
City Employee Hurricane Shelter $4,500,000.00 1 $3,375,000.00 1 1,125,000.00
Hardening of Critical City Facilities $ 500,000.00 $ 375,000.00 $ 125,000.00
Buy out Repetitive Loss properties $ 1,040,945.00 $ 780,708.75 $ 260,236.25
Replace Emergency 250 Kw Generator at $ 15Q,000.00 $ 112,500.00 $ 37,500.00
Police Headquarters
TOTAL $6190 945.00 $4 643 208.75 $1 547 736.25
in the amount of FOUR MILLION SIX HUNDRED FORTY-THREE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED EIGHT
AND 75/100 DOLLARS ($4,643,208.75)
Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby authorizes its twenty-five percent
(25%) match in the amount of ONE MILLION FIVE HUNDRED FORTY-SEVEN THOUSAND SEVEN
HUNDRED THIRTY-FIVE AND 25/100 DOLLARS($1,547,735.25)should the grant be awarded and accepted by
the City of Baytown.
Section 3: That the Interim City Manager is hereby designated as the authorized representative for all
purposes under the grant.
Section 4: That the Interim City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to accept or
affirm any grant award that may result from the above application.
Section 5: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and a its passage by the City Council
of the City of Baytown.
