RESOLUTION NO. 1851
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS, SUPPORTING THE PASSAGE OF HOUSE BILL 4017, AS FILED
BY REPRESENTATIVE WAYNE SMITH ON MARCH 23, 2007, RELATING
TO THE CREATION OF THE HARRIS COUNTY MUNICIPAL UTILITY
DISTRICT NO. 510, PROVIDING AUTHORITY TO IMPOSE A TAX AND
ISSUE BONDS, AND GRANTING THE POWER OF EMINENT DOMAIN;
AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby endorses and
encourages the passage of House Bill 4017, as filed by Representative Wayne Smith on
March 23, 2007, relating to the creation of the Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 510,
providing authority to impose a tax and issue bonds, and granting the power of eminent domain.
Section 2: That nothing contained herein shall be construed as the City of Baytown's
written consent required pursuant to Chapter 42 of the Texas Local Government Code and
Chapter 54 of the Texas Water Code. If the proposed legislation passes, the MUD shall be
required to request and obtain the City's written consent for its creation.
Section 3: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by
the City Council of the City of Baytown.
