RESOLUTION NO. 1791
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,
GRANTING THE PETITION OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN CONCERNING THE
ANNEXATION OF TRACT 2 (4F), BEING THAT PORTION OF LAND OUT OF
THE J.W. SINGLETON SURVEY AND RECORDED IN VOL. 3294 AT PAGE 225 IN
THE DEED RECORDS OF HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS; AND TRACT 3 (4E), BEING
THAT PORTION OF LAND OUT OF THE J.W. SINGLETON SURVEY AND
RECORDED IN VOL. 3306 AT PAGE 300 OF THE DEED RECORDS OF HARRIS
COUNTY,TEXAS; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, Section 43.028 of the Texas Local Government Code provides for the annexation of
certain sparsely populated property upon the written petition of the owners of the property and all persons
or entities with an interest therein; and
WHEREAS, the City of Baytown has received such a petition filed by The City of Baytown for
the annexation of Tract 2 (417), being that portion of land out of the J.W. Singleton Survey and recorded in
Vol. 3294 at page 225 in the deed records of Harris County, Texas; and Tract 3 (4E), being that portion of
land out of the J.W. Singleton Survey and recorded in Vol. 3306 at page 300 of the deed records of Harris
County,Texas; and
WHEREAS, on this date, the City Council heard the petition and the arguments for and against
the annexation and desires to grant the petition; NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby grants the petition
of The City of Baytown concerning the annexation of Tract 2 (417), being that portion of land out of the
J.W. Singleton Survey and recorded in Vol. 3294 at page 225 in the deed records of Harris County,
Texas; and Tract 3 (4E), being that portion of land out of the J.W. Singleton Survey and recorded in Vol.
3306 at page 300 of the deed records of Harris County,Texas. Said petition is attached hereto as Exhibit
"A," and incorporated herein for all intents and purposes.
Section 2: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the
City Council of the City of Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED,by the affirmative vote of the City Council of the City of

Come now, Gary M. Jackson, City Manager of the City of Baytown, owner(s) of
the real property described as follows:
Property description attached as Exhibit "A".
Said tract is one-half mile or less in width; is contiguous to the city limits of
Baytown; and is vacant and without residents or on which fewer than three qualified
voters reside.
The City of Baytown, the Owner of the above-described property requests
annexation of the property by the City of Baytown.

Being that tract or parcel of land out of the J. W. Singleton Survey, Harris County,Texas; a part
of the Twenty-Five (25) acre tract of land conveyed by the Goose Creek State Bank to J. W.
Riggs, Dave Aron, Sol Aron, W. H. Kiser, C. E. Morrell, H. S. Leggett, W. E. Duplantis and W.
M. Funk,by deed records of Harris County, Texas; the tract herein being that same tract of land
conveyed to Dr. C. H. Langford by C. M. Funk in deed recorded in Vol. 1137, at Page 397, of
the deed records of Harris County, Texas; and being more particularly described by metes and
bounds as follow:
BEGINNING at a point in the East line of the abovementioned 25 acre tract, said point of
beginning being located South 9 degrees 30 minutes East a distance of one hundred and ninety-
eight (198') feet from the Northeast comer of the said 25 acre tract;
THENCE, from the point of beginning South 9 degrees 30 minutes East with the East line of the
25 acre tract, a distance of 198 feet to a point for the Southeast comer of this tract;
THENCE, South 80 degrees 30 minutes West a distance of seven hundred twenty-five (725')
feet to a point for the Southwest corner of this tract;
THENCE,North 9 degrees 30 minutes West a distance of 198 feet to a point for the Northwest
comer of this tract;

enclosing a rectangle tract of land containing 3.30 acres, more or less.

BEGINNING at the East side of a road on the South line of the Lobit tract of land, said point
being the Northwest corner of this tract of land;
THENCE North 80 degrees 30 minutes East along said Lobit's South line 1375 feet to iron stake
for corner;
THENCE South 9 degrees 30 minutes East 792 feet to iron stake for corner;
THENCE South 80 degrees 30 minutes West 1375 feet to roadside for corner;
THENCE North 9 degrees 30 minutes West along roadside 792 feet to PLACE OF BEGINNING
containing 25 acres of land, lying and being situated in the J. W. Singleton Survey, Harris
County, Texas;
BEGINNING at a point in the North line of said 25 acres tract, 650 feet East of the Northwest
comer of said 25 acres tract and said point being in the South line of the Lobit tract, and being
