RESOLUTION NO. 1681
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,
AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 1592 TO ESTABLISH AN ADDITIONAL POLICY
PERTAINING TO THE MAXIMUM RETURN RADIUS FOR RESIDENTIAL
DRIVEWAYS FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE CURRENT AND ALL
FUTURE PHASES OF THE 2001 STREET BOND PROJECT; AND PROVIDING FOR
THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, on June 23, 2003, Council adopted Resolution No. 1592 to implement eight policy
changes for Phases I and 11 of the 2001 Street Bond Program; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend such resolution to include a uniform maximum
return radius at the transition between the pavement and the driveway as an additional policy for the 2001
Street Bond Project; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1: The City Council hereby amends Resolution No. 1592 to establish an additional
policy pertaining to the maximum return radius for residential driveways for the administration of the
current and all future phases of the 2001 Street Bond Project. Such policy, as amended, is attached hereto
as Exhibit"A" and incorporated herein for all intents and purposes.
Section 2: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the
City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas.
INTRODUCED, READ, and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City Council of the City of

2001 STREET BOND PROJECT, PHASES I AND II
1. Eliminate proposed additional storm sewer pipes and associated inlets on Amy, Pruett,
Utah, &McFarland.
2. Establish a maximum width and number of residential driveways the city will replace to
two driveways per single-family residence and a maximum total width of 35 feet
measured along the right-of-way line.
3. Replace residential driveways and sidewalks with "in-kind" materials to the right-of-way
line.
4. Replace headwalls or curbs along each side of a residential driveway to the right-of-way
line.
5. Replace streets to their current width or reduce the width to accommodate encroachments
or constraints in the right-of-way.
6. Waive staff s current policy of requiring all RCP culverts to be a minimum size of 18".
7. Construct headwalls at the major drainage outfall crossing along Burnett Drive.
8. Install handicap ramps, as required by state and federal statutes, along rehabilitated
streets as part of the street project.
9. Reconstruct driveways to a maximum five-foot return radius, in accordance with the
standard detail, which is attached hereto as Exhibit `B" and incorporated herein for all
intents and purposes; provided, however, driveways adjacent to an open ditch shall be
reconstructed to a maximum ten-foot return radius, in accordance with the standard
detail, which is attached hereto as Exhibit "C" and incorporated herein for all intents and
purposes.
