CC Resolution No. 1595 45 RESOLUTION NO. 1595 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, SUPPORTING A POLICE ACADEMY IN BAYTOWN TO PROVIDE TRAINING TO LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. WHEREAS, the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) licenses police academies; and WHEREAS, as part of the licensing process, TCLEOSE requires that each governing body sponsoring a police academy expresses its support of the same; and WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Baytown finds that it is in the best interest of the City of Baytown to support the establishment of a police academy in Baytown to provide training to law enforcement officers; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown desires to express its support to TCLEOSE; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby supports the establishment of a police academy in Baytown to provide training to law enforcement officers. Section 2: That the City Council hereby requests the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education take note of the City Council's support of a police academy in the City of Baytown. Section 3: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas.
