RESOLUTION NO. 1595
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,
SUPPORTING A POLICE ACADEMY IN BAYTOWN TO PROVIDE TRAINING TO
LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE
DATE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education
(TCLEOSE) licenses police academies; and
WHEREAS, as part of the licensing process, TCLEOSE requires that each governing body
sponsoring a police academy expresses its support of the same; and
WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Baytown finds that it is in the best interest of the City
of Baytown to support the establishment of a police academy in Baytown to provide training to law
enforcement officers; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown desires to express its support to TCLEOSE;
NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby supports the establishment
of a police academy in Baytown to provide training to law enforcement officers.
Section 2: That the City Council hereby requests the Texas Commission on Law
Enforcement Officer Standards and Education take note of the City Council's support of a police
academy in the City of Baytown.
Section 3: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the
City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED, by the affirmative vote of the City Council of the City of
