RESOLUTION NO. 1514
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN, TEXAS, TO ACCEPT ADDITIONAL FUNDING UNDER A
FEDERAL GRANT FROM THE OFFICE OF NATIONAL DRUG CONTROL
POLICY FOR THE COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT PERTAINING TO THE
HOUSTON HIGH INTENSITY DRUG TRAFFICKING AREA PROJECT;
AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, under grant no. IIPHNP516 from the Office of National Drug Control
Policy ("ONDCP"), the City, as grant recipient, has received EIGHT HUNDRED NINETY-SIX
THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED EIGHT AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($896,908.00) for the
cooperative agreement pertaining to the Houston High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Project;
and
WHEREAS, the ONDCP has reallocated excess funds to local High Intensity Drug
Trafficking Area Projects ("HIDTA"); and
WHEREAS, the additional amount appropriated by the ONDCP for the Houston HIDTA
increases the original grant amount by TWENTY-TWO THOUSAND AND NO/100 DOLLARS
($22,000.00); and
WHEREAS, the additional funds will be used by Houston HIDTA for RISSNET
connectivity; and
WHEREAS, the City of Baytown, being the agent for the federal grant, desires to accept
the additional grant funds for the purposes herein stated; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to accept
additional funding under a federal grant from the Office of National Drug Control Policy for the
Cooperative Agreement pertaining to the Houston High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Project
in the amount of TWENTY-TWO THOUSAND AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($22,000.00).
Section 2: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the
City Council of the City of Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED, by the affirmative vote of the City Council of the
City of Baytown this the 27th day of September, 2001.
