RESOLUTION NO. 1488
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS, SUPPORTING THE EXPANSION APPLICATION OF
APPROXIMATELY 200 ACRES AS A FOREIGN TRADE ZONE SUBZONE
DESIGNATION FOR HOME DEPOT, INC., BY THE PORT OF HOUSTON
AUTHORITY; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, on September 28, 2000, the City Council passed Resolution No. 1456,
supporting a Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) subzone designation for Home Depot, Inc., (formerly
known as Project Superior)by the Port of Houston Authority; and
WHEREAS, Home Depot, Inc., has requested to expand the FTZ subzone from 50 acres
to a total of 200 acres to provide for future demand without a time delay and the cost of another
consultant; NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby supports the
expansion application of approximately 200 acres as a Foreign Trade Zone subzone designation
for Home Depot, Inc.
Section 2: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by
the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City Council of the
City of Baytown, Texas, this the I oth day of May, 2001.
