CC Resolution No. 1432 2701 RESOLUTION NO. 1432 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, GRANTING JIM DATILLO, FIRE EQUIPMENT OPERATOR, BAYTOWN FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICES DEPARTMENT, EXTENDED INJURY LEAVE AT FULL PAY; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. WHEREAS, Texas Government Code §143.073(a) provides that a municipality shall provide to a firefigher or police officer a leave of absence for an illness or injury related to the person's line of duty of at least one year; and WHEREAS, Texas Government Code §143.073(b) provides that a municipality's governing body may extend the line of duty illness or injury leave at full or reduced pay; and WHEREAS, Jim Datillo is a City of Baytown firefighter who was injured in the line of duty and has exceeded his one-year leave of absence pursuant to Texas Government Code §143.073(a); and WHEREAS, it is expected that Jim Datillo will be able to return to full duty in the near future; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That Jim Datillo be granted up to 90 days additional leave of absence with full pay pursuant to Texas Government Code §143.073(b), commencing on January 29, 2000. Section 2: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
