RESOLUTION NO. 1414
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,
REQUESTING NOTICE FROM THE AGENCY OR POLITICAL SUBDIVISION OF
THE STATE THAT PROPOSES TO CONSTRUCT OR OPERATE A
CORRECTIONAL OR REHABILITATION FACILITY WITHIN THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown desires to receive notice from the Texas
Board of Pardons and Paroles/Texas Department of Criminal Justice ("TBPP"), regarding any and all
correctional or rehabilitation facilities to be located within the City of Baytown; and
WHEREAS, a representatives of the TBPP, has stated that the agency proposes to lease a facility
located at 1307 State Highway 146 for use as a parole office; and
WHEREAS, the City of Baytown desires to have the opportunity to determine whether the
operations of such a facility at the proposed location are in the best interest of the City of Baytown; and
WHEREAS,to be entitled to receive such a notice, the City Council of the City of Baytown must
submit a resolution to the agency or political subdivision of the state, which proposes to operate a
correctional or rehabilitation facility, a written request to receive notice;NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1: That all matters and facts set forth in the recitals hereinabove are found to be
true, and are approved as such by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby makes its written request,
pursuant to Section 244.005 of the Texas Local Government Code, to receive notice from an agency or
political subdivision of the state that proposes to operate a correctional or rehabilitation facility within the
City of Baytown.
Section 3: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the
City Council of the City of Baytown.
