CC Resolution No. 1411 2670 RESOLUTION NO. 1411 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE APPLICATION TO THE TEXAS GENERAL LAND OFFICE, COASTAL MANAGEMENT PROGRAM FOR A SUMMER 2001 WETLANDS ECO-PROGRAM; DESIGNATING AN AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE; AUTHORIZING THE REPRESENTATIVE TO ACCEPT OR AFFIRM ANY GRANT AWARD THAT MAY RESULT THEREFROM; AUTHORIZING A MATCH OF SIXTEEN THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY-SEVEN AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($16,177.00); AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. WHEREAS, the City of Baytown(the "City"), desires to apply to the Texas General Land Office, Coastal Management Program for a grant in the amount of Sixteen Thousand One Hundred Seventy-Seven and No/100 Dollars ($16,177.00) to fund a Summer 2001 Wetlands Eco-Program (the "Program") for eighty (80) children at the Eddie V. Gray Wetlands Education and Recreation Center; and WHEREAS, such grant requires that the City provide a 1:1 match in the amount of Sixteen Thousand One Hundred Seventy-Seven and No/100 Dollars ($16,177.00); and WHEREAS,twenty-four(24)of the eighty(80)children attending the Program will be from low-income families and their registration fees will be covered by scholarships from the community; and WHEREAS, the nature-oriented, hands-on and science-based Program will provide these children with a greater understanding of the Galveston Bay and Houston Ship Channel ecology/economy through various field trips, science lab experiments and computer lab activities; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to make application to the Texas General Land Office, Coastal Management Program for a grant for a Summer 2001 Wetlands Eco-Program in the amount of SIXTEEN THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY-SEVEN AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($16,177.00). Section 2: That the City Manager is hereby designated as the authorized representative for all purposes under the grant. Section 3: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to accept or affirm any grant award that may result from the above application. Section 4: That the City's match in the amount SIXTEEN THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY-SEVEN AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($16,177.00) is hereby authorized. This 2671 match shall include in-kind services totaling $8,620.00 and cash from registration fees totaling $7,557.00. Section 5: - This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
