CC Resolution No. 13992653 RESOLUTION NO. 1399 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 1137 DESIGNATING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE AS THE OFFICIALS AUTHORIZED TO ACT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN IN THE PURCHASING PROGRAM OF THE STATE PURCHASING AND GENERAL SERVICES COMMISSION; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. t***********#***** �* s* sr********+ r*+.+++*++.>.* rsr**+++...... ...s *. *tt #... + # + + # + + * + *s * * *r• *s WHEREAS, the Texas Local Government Code Section 271.081, et seq., provides that the State Purchasing and General Services Commission (the "Commission ") shall establish a program in which the Commission performs purchasing services for local governments; and WHEREAS, in Resolution No. 1137, passed on the 12'h day of December, 1991, the City Council requested the Commission to allow the City of Baytown (the "City") to participate in the state purchasing program on a voluntary basis (the "program "); and WHEREAS, since such date, the City of Baytown has been allowed to participate in the program and desires to continue to do so in order to continue to realize the savings derived from the program; and WHEREAS, the program satisfies all state law requirements compelling the City to seek competitive bids; and WHEREAS, the City Council in Resolution No. 1137 appointed Bobby Rountree as its representative in the program; and WHEREAS, the City Council now desires to designate persons holding the offices of City Manager and Director of Finance as its authorized officials; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby amends Resolution No. 1137, passed on the 12 °i day of December, 1991, by designating the persons holding the offices of the City Manager and the Director of Finance as the officials authorized to act for and on behalf of the City of Baytown in all matters relating to the program. Section 2: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
