CC Resolution No. 1329 2549 RESOLUTION NO. 1329 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, TO APPLY FOR A GRANT TO THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR, CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION, T.N.C.P. PROGRAM IN CONNECTION WITH THE HARRIS COUNTY ORGANIZED CRIME AND NARCOTICS TASK FORCE; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. ******************************************************************************* WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown finds it in the best interest of the citizens of Baytown that the Harris County Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force ("HCOCNTF")be operated for the 9'year; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown has considered the proposed application for State and Federal Assistance for HCOCNTF, in the amount of THREE MILLION ONE-HUNDRED FORTY-NINE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED FIVE AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($3,149,605.00), to be submitted to the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, T.N.C.P. Program; and WHEREAS, the City of Baytown will receive a maximum of THREE MILLION ONE- HUNDRED FORTY-NINE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED FIVE AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($3,149,605.00) in Criminal Justice Division funds for the HCOCNTF; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown has agreed to provide matching moneys for the said project in the amount of ONE MILLION FORTY-NINE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED SIXTY-EIGHT AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($1,049,868.00) as required in the grant application. WHEREAS T14E City Council has agreed that in the event of loss or misuse of the THREE MILLION ONE-HUNDRED FORTY-NINE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED FIVE AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($3,149,605.00), in Criminal Justice Division Funds, the City of Baytown assures that the funds will be returned to the Criminal Justice Division in full; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby approves submission of the grant application for the HCOCNTF to the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, T.N.C.P. Program in the amount of THREE MILLION ONE-HUNDRED FORTY-NINE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED FIVE AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($3,149,605.00). Section 2: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby designated as the authorized representative for all purposes under the grant. Section 3: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to accept or affirm any grant award that may result from the above application. 2551 Section 4: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
