CC Resolution No. 1282 2476 RESOLUTION NO. 1282 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, ESTABLISHING A CASUAL DRESS CODE FOR THE COUNCILMEMBERS DURING SUMMER COUNCIL SESSIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. WHEREAS, the hot temperatures and high humidity create uncomfortable characteristics during the summer months along the Gulf Coast; and WHEREAS, the long days of summer create a more casual atmosphere at city council meetings; and WHEREAS, proper casual attire can be consistent with a professional business atmosphere and community standards;NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That summer months shall be defined as beginning June 21 and ending September 22 each year. Section 2: That during the summer months casual attire may, at the option of each individual councilmember, be worn at council meetings. Casual attire for men would include sport shirts or pullovers, no tie, casual slacks and shoes. For women, casual attire would include slacks, casual blouses and skirts, and casual shoes. Inappropriate attire includes,but is not limited to,tennis shoes, sweat suits or wind suits, stirrup pants, leggings, knee length pants, mini shirts, skorts, T-shirts, halter tops, bare midriffs, revealing garments, or tank tops worn alone. Section 3: This resolution, heretofore known as the "Pruett Resolution," shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
