CC Resolution No. 1241 2392 RESOLUTION NO. 1241 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, THAT THE MAJOR LEAGUE FIELD AT THE NEW CENTRAL LITTLE LEAGUE PARK ON GARTH ROAD BE NAMED IN HONOR OF 0. J. "DIXIE" HOWELL; THAT A SIGN IN HONOR OF MR. HOWELL BE PLACED IN A PROMINENT LOCATION AT OR NEAR SAID FIELD; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. WHEREAS, Mr. 0. J. "Dixie" Howell has been very active in community endeavors; and WHEREAS, Mr. 0. J. "Dixie" Howell is known for his dynamic participation in the Baytown Central Little League; and WHEREAS, Mr. 0. J. "Dixie" Howell has tirelessly supported the Baytown Central Little League for many years; and WHEREAS, Mr. 0. J. "Dixie" Howell has sponsored Baytown Central Little League teams for many years; and WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board has unanimously approved the request to name the major league field at the new Central Little League Park in honor of Mr. Howell ; and WHEREAS, naming the major league field at the new Central Little League Park the 0. J. "Dixie" Howell Field in honor of Mr. Howell would be an appropriate gesture to honor the community endeavors of Mr. Howell; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS : Section 1 : That the major league field at the new Central Little League Park is hereby named the 0. J. "Dixie" Howell Field in honor of the many years of support of the Central Little League by Mr. 0. J. "Dixie" Howell . Section 2 : That a sign naming the major league field in honor of Mr. Howell shall be placed in a prominent location at or near said field. Section 3 : This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
