RESOLUTION NO. 1224
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN, TEXAS, TO SUBMIT A PRE - APPLICATION PROPOSAL TO
THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION FOR A PUBLIC
WORKS PROGRAM GRANT; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE
THEREOF.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is
hereby authorized to submit a pre - application proposal to the
Economic Development Administration for a Public Works Program
Grant in the amount of FOUR - HUNDRED SEVENTY -FIVE THOUSAND AND
N0 1100 ($475,000) DOLLARS.
Section 2: The total estimated cost for this project is
approximately NINE HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND AND N01100 ($950,000)
DOLLARS.
Section 3: The matching funds will be provided in the form of
in -kind from Koppel Steel Corporation and USX and cash. The City
will provide its share of the project funding in cash and be
reimbursed for this amount from the Koppel Steel Corporation.
Section 4: In the event the EDA share increases to 60%, the
City Manager is authorized to submit a pre- application proposal to
the Economic Development Administration for a Public Works Program
Grant in the amount of FIVE HUNDRED SEVENTY THOUSAND AND N01100
($570,000) DOLLARS.
Section 5: That the City Manager is hereby designated as the
authorized representative for all purposes under the grant.
Section 6: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is
hereby authorized to accept or affirm any grant award that may
result from the above application.
Section 7: This resolution shall take effect immediately from
and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
