RESOLUTION NO. 1205
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS, THAT THE WALKWAY ON THE PERRY SIMMONS BRIDGE,
LOCATED ON WEST MAIN STREET, BE NAMED IN HONOR OF FORMER
COUNCILMAN TED L. KLOESEL; THAT A SIGN IN HONOR OF MR.
KLOESEL BE PLACED IN A PROMINENT LOCATION AT OR NEAR SAID
BRIDGE; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, Ted L. Kloesel served on the Baytown City Council
from April 10, 1968 to April 12, 1972, and from April 10, 1978 to
April 30, 1980; and
WHEREAS, Ted L. Kloesel, during his second term of office, was
the driving force to have a pedestrian walkway constructed across
Goose Creek Stream at the Perry Simmons Bridge; and
WHEREAS, as a result of Ted L. Kloesel's tireless efforts on
behalf of the citizens, a pedestrian walkway was included in the
plans for a new bridge across Goose Creek Stream at West Main
Street; NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the walkway on the Perry Simmons Bridge is
hereby named the Ted L. Kloesel Walkway in honor of former
Councilman Ted L. Kloesel.
Section 2: That a sign naming the walkway in honor of Mr.
Kloesel shall be placed in a prominent location at or near said
bridge.
Section 3: This resolution shall take effect immediately from
and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the
City Council of the City of Baytown, this the 10th day of February,
1994.
