A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT A GRANT
APPLICATION TO THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND
SECURITY/FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY FOR THE
FY 2020 ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT -- COVID-19
SUPPLEMENTAL PROGRAM AUTHORIZED BY THE CORONAVIRUS
AID, RELIEF, AND ECONOMIC SECURITY ACT FOR CRITICAL
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES NEEDED TO
PREVENT, PREPARE FOR, AND RESPOND TO THE COVID-19 HEALTH
EMERGENCY IN THE AMOUNT OF NINETY-SEVEN THOUSAND THREE
HUNDRED NINETY AND 62/100 DOLLARS ($97,390.62); AUTHORIZING A
CASH MATCH IN THE AMOUNT OF EIGHT THOUSAND EIGHT
HUNDRED FIFTY-TIIREE AND 69100 DOLLARS ($8,853.69);
AUTHORIZING THE REPRESENTATIVE TO ACCEPT OR AFFIRM ANY
GRANT AWARD T14AT MAY RESULT THEREFROM; AND PROVIDING
FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE TIIEREOF.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to
submit a grant application to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security/Federal Emergency
Management Agency for the FY 2020 Assistance to Firefighters Grant -- COVID-19
Supplemental Program authorized by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act
for critical Personal Protective Equipment and supplies needed to prevent, prepare for, and
respond to the COVID-19 health emergency, in the amount of NINETY-SEVEN THOUSAND
THREE HUNDRED NINETY AND 62/100 DOLLARS ($97,390.62).
Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby authorizes a cash
match in the amount of EIGHT THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED FIFTY-THREE AND 69' 100
DOLLARS ($8,853.69) pursuant to the terms and conditions of the grant authorized in section 1
hereof.
Section 3: That the City Manager is hereby designated as the authorized
representative for all purposes under the grant.
Section 4: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to
accept or affirm any grant award that may result from the above application.
Section 5: That in the event of loss or misuse of the grant funds, the City Council of
the City of Baytown hereby assures the U.S. Department of Homeland Security,/Federal
Emergency Management Agency that such grant funds will be returned in full.
Section 6: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by
the City Council of the City of Baytown.
