Ordinance No. 11,331ORDINANCE NO. 1 1 ,33 1 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TI -lE CITY OF BAYTOWN, "TEXAS_ AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF TWO I- 1UNDRED TWENTY -SIX TI- IOUSAND TWO HUNDRED SEVEN AND NO /100 DOLLARS ($226,207.00) TO PI-IOENIX ARCHITECTURAL PRODUCTS, INC., THROUGH FEDERAL SUPPLY SCHEDULE 84 OF THE UNITED STATE'S GENERAL SERVICES ADMThTISTRATION FOR THE PURCHASE OF HURRICANE BARRIERS FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT; MAKING OT14ER PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO: AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE T1 FE- REOF. WHEREAS, the Local Preparedness Acquisition Act (P.L. 1 10-248) amended the Federal Property and Administrative Services Act to authorize the use of Federal Supply Schedule 84 contracts by state and local entities under the GSA Cooperative Purchasing Program: and WHEREAS, based upon the Act, the City of Baytown qualities as a local government entity and is qualified to participate in the GSA Cooperative Purchasing Program as an alternate purchasing method satisfying the City's competitive bidding obligations; and WHEREAS- the purchase of hurricane barriers for the Fire Department may be purchased by the City through the Cooperative Purchasing Program of the United State's Gencral Services Administration; NOW TI-IEREFORE BE 1T ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN', TEXAS: Section 1: -1 -hat the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby authorizes the payment of TWO HUNDRED TWENTY -SIX THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED SEVEN AND NO /100 DOLLARS ($226,207.00) to Phoenix Architectural Products. Inc.. through the Federal Supply Schedule 84 of the United State's General Services Administration for the purchase of hurricane barriers for the Fire Department.
