AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN. TEXAS.
AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF TWO MILLION ONE IIUNDRED THOUSAND
AND NO /100 DOLLARS ($2,100,000.00) TO MOTOROLA CORPORATION THROUGH
THE HOUSTON - GALVESTON AREA COUNCIL FOR THE PURCHASE OF RADIO
EQUIPMENT, INCLUDING CONSOLES, BASE STATIONS AND SIMILAR
TELECOMMUNICATIONS INFRASTRUCTURE; MAKING OTHER PROVISIONS
RELATED TI IERETO; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE "THEREOF.
WHEREAS, the City Council ofthe City of Bayto\vn has approved an Interlocal Agreement which
authorizes the Houston - Galveston Area Council to take bids for certain items on behalf ofthe City of Baytown;
and
WHEREAS, pursuant to such aoreenlent, the Houston - Galveston Area Council has taken bids for
radio equipnlent, including consoles, base stations and similar telecommunications infrastructure; NOW
THEREFORE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the Citv of Baytown hereby authorizes the payment of TWO
MILLION ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND AND NO /100 DOLLARS ($2,100.000.00) to Motorola
Corporation through the Houston - Galveston Area Council for the purchase of radio equipnlent. InCIII(lill"
consoles, base stations and similar telecommunications infrastructure.
Section 2: That pursuant to the provisions of Texas Local Government Code Annotated
§252.048, the City Manager is hereby granted general authority to approve any change order involving a
decrease or an increase in costs of TWENTY -FIVE THOUSAND AND NO /I 00 DOLLARS ($25,000.00) or
less, provided that the original contract price may not be increased by nlore than twenty-five percent (25 %) or
decreased by more than twenty -five percent (25 %) without the consent of the contractor to such decrease.
Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City
Council of the City of Baytown. „
