ORDINANCE NO. 11,212
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN. TEXAS,
RATIFYING THE PROPERTY TAX INCREASE REFLECTED IN THE BUDGET
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL I-OR THE ENSUING FISCAL YEAR.
BEGINNING OCTOBER 1. 2009. AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 2010: AND
PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown on September 10, 2009. approved the
budget for the City of Baytown for the fiscal year beginning October L 2009, and ending September 30.
2010: and
WHEREAS, the adopted budget will require raising more revenue from property taxes than in the
City's previous fiscal year by EIGI -rr HUNDRED THIRTY -FOUR THOUSAND SIX FFUNDRED
EIGHTY -EIGI IT AND NO /100 DOLLARS (S834.688.00) or 4.45 %; and
WHEREAS, Section 102.007(c) of the Texas Local Government Codes requires the City Council
in a vote separate from the adoption of a budget. which will require raising more revenue from property
taxes than in the previous year. to ratify the property tax increase reflected in the budget; NOS\
THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TI-IE CITY OF BAYTOWN. TEXAS:
Section l: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby ratifies the property tax
increase reflected in the City's Fiscal Year 2009 -10 Budget adopted by the City Council on September
10, 2009.
Section 2: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the
City Council of the City of Baytown.
