TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTI_ATE AND EXECUTE A JOINT ELECTION AGREEMENT WITH CHAMBERS COUNTY FOR THE GENERAL AND SPECIAL ELECTIONS TO BE HELD ON THE 12TH DAY OF MAY, 2007, CONTINGENT UPON A STATE -WIDE ELECTION BEING HELD ON THE SAME DATE CONCERNING A CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT AS PROPOSED IN SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 13; AUTHORIZING PAYMENT THEREFOR NOT TO EXCEED TEN THOUSAND AND NO/100 DOLLARS (S 10.000.00): AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN. TEXAS: Section l: That contingent upon a state -wide election being held May 12, 2007. concerning a constitutional amendment as proposed in Senate Joint Resolution No. 13, the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas. hereby authorizes the City Manager to negotiate and execute a joint election agreement with Chambers County for the general and special elections to be held on the 12 °i day of May, 2007, under terms and conditions deemed acceptable to the City Manager and the City Attorney and requiring early voting to be conducted at the branch early voting location in Baytown at a minimum during the hours set by Harris County. Texas. Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, authorizes payment to Chambers County in an amount not to exceed TEN THOUSAND AND NO/ 100 DOLLARS (S 10,000.00), pursuant to the letter agreement identified in Section 1 hereof. Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
