TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE A JOINT ELECTION AGREEMENT WITH HARRIS COUNTY FOR THE GENERAL AND SPECIAL ELECTIONS TO BE HELD ON THE 12TH DAY OF MAY, 2007, CONTINGENT UPON A STATE -WIDE ELECTION BEING HELD ON THE SAME DATE CONCERNING A CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT AS PROPOSED IN SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 13: AUTHORIZING PAYMENT THEREFOR NOT TO EXCEED THIRTY THOUSAND AND NO /100 DOLLARS (S30.000.00): AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOIVNT, TEXAS: Section 1: That contingent upon a state -wide election being held May 12, 2007. concerning a constitutional amendment as proposed in Senate Joint Resolution No. 13, the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby authorizes the City Manager to negotiate and execute a joint election agreement with Harris County for the general and special elections to be held on the 12th day of May, 2007, under terms and conditions deemed acceptable to the City Manager and the City Attorney. Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, authorizes payment to Harris County in an additional amount not to exceed THIRTY THOUSAND AND NO /100 DOLLARS (S30,000.00), pursuant to the letter agreement identified in Section 1 hereof. Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect inunediately from and after its passage by City Council of the City of Baytown.
