Ordinance No. 10,512ORDINANCE NO. 18,512 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF AN ANNUAL ASSESSMENT TO HARRIS COUNTY APPRAISAL DISTRICT FOR APPRAISAL SERVICES FOR THE 2Q07 TA31 YEAR IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED ETGHTEEN THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED NINE AND N0/100 DOLLARS ($118,709.00); MKZNG OTHER PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECITVE DATE THEREOF. WHEREAS, each taxing unit participating in the Aanis County Appraisal District (the "District") is assessed for a portion of the operations budget of the District in accordance with Section 6.06 of the Texas Tax Code; and WHEREAS, each taxing unit shall pay its allocation in four equal payments with the first such payment being due before January 1,2007; and WHEREAS, the City's first quarterly payment is TWENTY-NTNE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED SEVENTY-SEVEN AND NOlIOO DOLLARS ($29,677,00); NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1 : That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby authorizes the payment of an annual assessment to Harris County Appraisal District for appraisal services for the 2007 tax year in an amount not to exceed ONE HUNDRED EIGHTEEN THOUSAND SEVEN RUNDRED NINE AND NO11 00 DOLLARS ($1 18,709.00). Section 2: That the City Manager is hereby granted general authority to approve a decrease or an increase in costs of TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND AND N0/100 DOLLARS ($25,000.00) or less, pravided that the amount authorized in Section I may not be increased by more than twenty-five percent (25%). Section 3: This ordinance shaIl take effect immediately fiom and after its passage by the City Council of he City of Baytown.
