Ordinance No. 9,608AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FIFTY -FOUR THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED EIGHTY -ONE AND NO 1100 DOLLARS ($54,881.00) TO HOUSTON - GALVESTON AREA COUNCIL FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) CHEVROLET 3/4 -TON PICKUP TRUCK, ONE (1) CHEVROLET 1/2 -TON EXTENDED CAB PICKUP TRUCK, AND ONE (1) CHEVROLET SEDAN FOR THE BAYTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT; MAKING OTHER PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown has approved an Interlocal Agreement which authorizes the Houston - Galveston Area Council to take bids for certain items on behalf of the City of Baytown; and WHEREAS, pursuant to such agreement, the Houston - Galveston Area Council has taken bids on one (1) Chevrolet 3/4 -ton Pickup Truck, one (1) Chevrolet 1/2 -ton Extended Cab Pickup Truck, and one (1) Chevrolet Sedan for the Baytown Police Department; NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby authorizes the payment of FIFTY -FOUR THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED EIGHTY -ONE AND NO 1100 DOLLARS ($54,881.00) to the Houston - Galveston Area Council for the purchase of one (1) Chevrolet 3/4 -ton Pickup Truck, one (1) Chevrolet 1/2 -ton Extended Cab Pickup Truck, and one (1) Chevrolet Sedan for the Baytown Police Department. Section 2: That pursuant to the provisions of Texas Local Government Code Annotated § 252.048, the City Manager is hereby granted general authority to approve any change order involving a decrease or an increase in costs of TWENTY -FIVE THOUSAND AND N01100 DOLLARS ($25,000.00) or less, provided that the original contract price may not be increased by more than twenty-five percent (25 %) or decreased by more than twenty -five percent (25 %) without the consent of the contractor to such decrease. Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
