Ordinance No. 9,479ORDINANCE NO. 9479 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING TWO MECHANIC POSITIONS UNDER THE HARRIS COUNTY ORGANIZED CRIME AND NARCOTICS TASK FORCE FUND 240; MAKING OTHER PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. WHEREAS, the City of Baytown is the grant applicant and the administrator of Harris County Organized Crime Narcotics Task Force ( "HCOCNTF "); and WHEREAS, the City of Baytown has requested approval from the Criminal Justice Division of the Office of the Governor to hire and to fund two mechanic positions to provide maintenance and repair services for HCOCNTF's motor vehicle fleet; and WHEREAS, these mechanic positions previously were provided to the HCOCNTF by the Adjutant General's Office Counter Drug Program at no expense to the City or HCOCNTF; and WHEREAS, the Criminal Justice Division of the Office of the Governor, after considering the City of Baytown's request, approved the two positions with no increase of the existing HCOCNTF budget; and WHEREAS, City of Baytown desires to hire persons to till these positions as City of Baytown employees; and WHEREAS, the salaries and benefits associated with these positions will be entirely funded through the HCOCNTF grant funds and no local funding will be required; and WHEREAS, these positions will be dissolved in the event that grant funding is no longer provided; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: The facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this ordinance are hereby found and declared to be true and correct. Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby authorizes two mechanic positions under the Harris County Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force Fund 240.
