AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL, OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS, ENGAGING OF COATS, ROSE, YALE, RYMAN & LEE, P.C., FOR
THE PERFORMANCE OF LEGAL SERVICES IN CONNECTION WITH THE
MUNICIPAL COURT AND JAIL PROJECT; AND PROVIDING FOR THE
EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby engages Coats,
Rose, Yale, Ryman & Lee, P.C., for the performance of legal services in connection with the Municipal
Court and Jail Project, including a review of the contract documents, interviewing persons involved with
the project, examining the facilities, preparing initial and final reports, and prosecuting any and all
claims on behalf of the City of Baytown.
Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Baytown authorizes payment to Coats, Rose,
Yale, Ryman & Lee, P.C., of a sum not to exceed FIFTEEN THOUSAND AND NO /100 DOLLARS
($15,000.00).
Section 3: That the City Manager is hereby granted the general authority to approve a
decrease or an increase in costs by TWENTY -FIVE THOUSAND AND N01100 DOLLARS
($25,000.00) or less, provided that the amount authorized in Section 2 hereof may not be increased by
more than twenty-five percent (25 %).
Section 4: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the
City Council of the City of Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City Council of the City of
Baytown this the 10°i day of October, 2002.
