® AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS, ENLARGING THE BOUNDARIES OF REINVESTMENT ZONE
NUMBER ONE, CITY OF BAYTOWN; 'AND PROVIDING FOR THE
EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Chapter 311 of the Texas Tax Code, the City of Baytown (the
"City ") may enlarge an existing reinvestment zone to include an area described in a petition
requesting that the area be included in the zone; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, received such a petition
from the owners of the property described in Exhibit "A," which is attached hereto and
incorporated herein for all intents and purposes, (the "Property") to enlarge Reinvestment Zone
Number One, City of Baytown (the "Zone "); and
WHEREAS, the Property has remained undeveloped for many years and without
improvements; and
WHEREAS, with the addition of the Property to the Zone, the Zone shall not include
more than 15 percent of the total appraised value of the taxable real property in the City of
Baytown and in its industrial districts; and
WHEREAS, with the addition of the Property to the Zone, the Zone will not contain
more than 15 percent of the total appraised value of real property taxable by a county or school
district; and
WHEREAS, the addition of the Property to the Zone conforms to and is consistent with
all requirements of Chapter 311 of the Texas Tax Code; and
WHEREAS, the addition of the Property to the Zone will significantly enhance the value
of all the taxable real property in the Zone and will be of general benefit to the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown desires to enlarge the boundaries of
the Zone with the addition of the Property; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby finds and
declares that the facts and recitations contained in the preamble of this ordinance are true and
correct and are adopted as part of this ordinance for all purposes.
Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby enlarges
Reinvestment Zone Number One, City of Baytown to include the area described in Exhibit "A"
and defined hereinabove as the Property.
® Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by
the City Council of the City of Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City Council of the
City of Baytown this the 20th day of November, 2001.
