Ordinance No. 9,11720010222 -b ORDINANCE NO. 9117 AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BIDS OF MATERA PAPER COMPANY AND GROVES INDUSTRIAL SUPPLY FOR THE ANNUAL JANITORIAL PRODUCTS CONTRACT AND AUTHORIZING PAYMENT BY THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, THE SUM OF THIRTY THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED SIXTY -FOUR AND 95/100 DOLLARS ($30,364.95); MAKING OTHER PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown did authorize the Purchasing Department for the City of Baytown to advertise for bids for the Annual Janitorial Products Contract to be received February 5, 2001; and WHEREAS, notice to bidders as to the time and place, when and where the contract would be let was published pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 252 of the Texas Local Government Code; and WHEREAS, all bids were opened and publiclyread at City Hall at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 5, 2001, as per published notice to bidders; NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby accepts the bid of Matera Paper Company for Item Nos. 1 -13 of the Annual Janitorial Products Contract for the sum of TWENTY -FIVE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED EIGHTY -SIX AND 45/100 DOLLARS ($25,386.45) and authorizes payment thereof. Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby accepts the bid of Groves Industrial Supply for Item No. 14 of the Annual Janitorial Products Contract for the sum of FOUR THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED SEVENTY -EIGHT AND 50 1100 DOLLARS ($4,978.50) and authorizes payment thereof. Section 3: That pursuant to the provisions of Texas Local Government Code Annotated § 252.048, the City Manager is hereby granted general authority to approve any change order involving a decrease or an increase in costs of TWENTY -FIVE THOUSAND AND N011 00 DOLLARS ($25,000.00) or less, subj ect to the provision that the original contract price may not be increased by more than twenty-five percent (25 %) or decreased by more than twenty-five percent (25 %) without the consent of the contractor to such decrease. Section 4: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
