Ordinance No. 9,05220001130 -11 ORDINANCE NO. 9052 ® AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF DURRETT DEMOLITION FOR THE DEMOLITION OF STRUCTURES; AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT FOR THE SUM OF SEVENTEEN THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED FORTY AND NO /100 DOLLARS ($17,440.00); NL KING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT. WHEREAS, the following structures in Baytown, Texas, were found to be dilapidated, substandard and a hazard to the public health, safety and welfare in public hearings held by the City of Baytown Urban Rehabilitation Standards Review Board: Address Type of Structure Public Hearing Date 124 W. Pearce Residential building May 1, 2000 1108 Bookertee Residential building October 2, 2000 1108 Turner Residential building October 2, 2000 WHEREAS, the City of Baytown submitted the proposed contract to demolish said structures at 124 W. Texas Avenue, 107 W. Pearce, 1108 Bookertee, and 1108 Turner, Baytown, Texas, to competitive bid by publishing notice of the time and place, when and where such contract would be awarded as provided by Texas Local Government Code Annotated § 252.041; and WHEREAS, all bids were opened and publicly read at City Hall at 10:00 a.m., November 27, 2000, as provided by said notice; NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section l: That the City Council hereby finds that the structures at 124 W. Texas Avenue, 107 W. Pearce, 1108 Bookertee, and 1108 Turner, Baytown, Texas, are dilapidated, substandard and a hazard to the public health, safety and welfare and need to be demolished. Section 2: That the City Council hereby accepts the bid of Durrett Demolition for the demolition and removal of the structures at 124 W. Texas Avenue, 107 W. Pearce, 1108 Bookertee, and 1108 Turner, Baytown, Texas. Section 3: That the City Manager and the City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute and attest to a contract with Durrett Demolition for the demolition and removal of said structures for the sum of SEVENTEEN THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED FORTY AND N01100 DOLLARS ($17,440.00).
