Ordinance No. 8,93820000622 -6 ® AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF ALL TEXAS DEMOLISHING FOR THE DEMOLITION OF STRUCTURES; AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT FOR THE SUM OF FIFTY TWO THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED EIGHTY -SEVEN AND NO /100 DOLLARS ($52,487.00); MAKING VARIOUS FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT. *********************************************** * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** WHEREAS, the following structures in Baytown, Texas, were found to be dilapidated, substandard and a hazard to the public health, safety and welfare in public hearings held on January 10, February 7, April 10, and May 1, 2000, by the City of Baytown Urban Rehabilitation Standards Review Board: Address 706/716 Martin L King Commercial building 321 W. Main Commercial building 3223 Minnesota Commercial building 400 Live Oak House and shed 1509 Thompson House and shed 3202 Illinois House and garage apartment 1120 Johnston House 1614 Willow House and garage 107 E. Sterling House and garage apartment 1213 Magnolia Garage apartment WHEREAS, the City of Baytown submitted the proposed contract to demolish said structures at 706/716 Martin L King, 321 W. Main, 3223 Minnesota, 400 Live Oak, 1509 Thompson, 3202 Illinois, 1120 Johnston, 1614 Willow, 107 E. Sterling and 1213 Magnolia, Baytown, Texas, to competitive bid by publishing notice of the time and place, when and where such contract would be awarded as provided by Texas Local Government Code Annotated § 252.041; and WHEREAS, all bids were opened and publicly read at City Hall at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 12, 2000, as provided by said notice; NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby finds that the structures at 706/716 Martin L King, 321 W. Main, 3223 Minnesota, 400 Live Oak, 1509 Thompson, 3202 Illinois, 1120 Johnston, 1614 Willow, 107 E. Sterling, and 1213 Magnolia, Baytown, Texas, are dilapidated, substandard and a hazard to the public health, safety and welfare and need to be demolished. Section 2: That the City Council hereby accepts the bid of All Texas Demolishing for ® the demolition and removal of the structures at 706/716 Martin L King, 321 W. Main, 3223 Minnesota, 400 Live Oak, 1509 Thompson, 3202 Illinois, 1120 Johnston, 1614 Willow, 107 E. Sterling and 1213 Magnolia, Baytown, Texas. 20000622 -6a Section 3: That the City Manager and the City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute and attest to a contract with All Texas Demolishing for the demolition and removal of said structures for the sum of FIFTY TWO THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED EIGHTY -SEVEN AND NO /100 DOLLARS ($52,487.00). Section 4: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
