ORDINANCE NO. 8830
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN
SETTING A DATE, TIME AND PLACE FOR A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE
PROPOSED LOCATION OF A CORRECTIONAL OR REHABILITATION
FACILITY AT 807 W. STERLING, BAYTOWN, TEXAS; AND PROVIDING FOR
THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,

Section 1: On the 24th day of February, 2000, at 6:35 p.m. in the City Hall Council
Chambers of the City of Baytown, 2401 Market Street, Baytown, Texas, the City Council will
hold a public hearing giving all interested parties the right to appear and be heard on the
proposed location of a correctional or rehabilitation facility at 807 W. Sterling, Baytown, Texas.
Section 2: The City Clerk of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized and directed
to cause notice of each public hearing to be published once in the newspaper having general
circulation in the City and in the above - described territory not more than twenty (20) days nor
less than ten (10) days prior to the date of the public hearing.
Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by
the City Council of the City of Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City Council of the
City of Baytown this the 10th day of February, 2000.

On January 25, 2000, Harris County Commissioners Court approved the
notification to the City of Baytown of our intent to establish a branch office for
the Harris County Juvenile Probation Department to be located at 807 W.
Sterling in Baytown.
Attached is a copy of that resolution for your records.

On this, the 25t'day of January, 2000, the Commissioners Court of Harris County, Texas, sitting
as the governing body of Harris County, upon motion of Commissioner Eversole, seconded by
Commissioner Lee, duly put and carried,
IT IS ORDERED that the request of the Harris County Juvenile Probation Department to notify
the City of Baytown of the department's intent to establish a branch office for the Harris County
Juvenile Probation Department at 807 W. Sterling in Baytown, Texas be approved.
Judge Eckels abstained on the above item.
