ORDINANCE NO. 8680
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING CONTINUATION OF PROFESSIONAL SERVICES OF
VOLLMER PUBLIC RELATIONS TO CONTINUE TO DEVELOP AN IMAGE CAMPAIGN FOR
THE CITY OF BAYTOWN; AUTHORIZING PAYMENT BY THE CITY OF BAYTOWN OF
TWENTY -FIVE THOUSAND AND NO /100 DOLLARS ($25,000.00); MAKING OTHER
PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE
THEREOF.

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown solicited requests for proposals in 1996 for public
relations services for an image campaign; and
WHEREAS, Vollmer Public Relations was the successful proposer; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown desires to continue this program in accordance with the
Vollmer proposal; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby authorizes continuation of professional
services of Vollmer Public Relations to continue to develop an image campaign for the City of Baytown and authorizes
payment of TWENTY -FIVE THOUSAND AND NO/] 00 DOLLARS ($25,000.00).
Section 2: That the City Manager is hereby granted general authority to approve a decrease or an
increase in costs by FIFTEEN THOUSAND AND N01100 DOLLARS ($15,000.00) or less, provided that
the amount authorized in Section 1 hereof may not be increased by more than twenty -five percent (25 %).
Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council
of the City of Baytown.
Section 4: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council
of the City of Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ, and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City Council of the City of Baytown this
