® AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS, REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 8618 PASSED ON JUNE 24, 1999,
WHICH AUTHORIZED A CONTRACT WITH ALL TEXAS DEMOLITION FOR
THE DEMOLITION OF STRUCTURES LOCATED AT 315 N. MAIN, 117 E.
TEXAS AVENUE AND 410 S. FOURTH; ACCEPTING THE BID OF DURRETT
DEMOLITION FOR THE DEMOLITION OF STRUCTURES LOCATED AT 315
N. MAIN, 117 E. TEXAS AVENUE AND 410 S. FOURTH FOR THE SUM OF
FORTY -THREE THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED NINETY AND NO /100
DOLLARS ($43,490.00); AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE
THEREOF.
WHEREAS, three certain structures located at 315 N. Main, 117 E. Texas Avenue and 410
S. Fourth, Baytown, Texas, were found to be dilapidated and a hazard to the public health, safety and
welfare in a public hearing held June 7, 1999, by the City of Baytown Urban Rehabilitation Standards
Review Board; and
WHEREAS, on June 24, 1999, the bid of All Texas Demolition was accepted in accordance
with Texas Local Government Code Annotated § 252.041 for the demolition and removal of
structures located at 315 N. Main, 117 E. Texas Avenue and 420 S. Fourth; and
WHEREAS, All Texas Demolition has requested their bid be withdrawn due to a mistake in
the initial bid; and
WHEREAS, Durrett Demolition, being the second lowest bidder, is now awarded the bid to
demolish the above - referenced structures; NOW THEREFORE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby repeals Ordinance
No. 8618 passed on June 24, 1999, which authorized a contract with All Texas Demolition for the
demolition of structures located at 315 N. Main, 117 E. Texas Avenue and 410 S. Fourth.
Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby accept the bid
of Durrett Demolition for the demolition and removal of the structures located at 315 N. Main, 117
E. Texas Avenue and 410 S. Fourth, Baytown, Texas.
Section 3: That the City Manager and the City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed
to execute and attest to a contract with Durrett Demolition for the demolition and removal of the
above - mentioned structures for the sum of FORTY -THREE THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED
NINETY AND NO /100 DOLLARS ($43,490.00).
0 Section 4: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the
City Council of the City of Baytown.
