Ordinance No. 8,562990408 -1.4 ORDINANCE N0. 8562 • AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF EXXON PIPELINE COMPANY IN THE AMOUNT OF SIX THOUSAND AND NO /100 DOLLARS ($6,000.00) FOR THE SALE OF THE PORTION OF ST. MARY'S ISLAND OWNED BY THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. C7 ***************************************************** * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** WHEREAS, the City of Baytown, Texas, sought competitive bids for the sale of the portion of St. Mary's Island owned by the City of Baytown (the "Property), which Property is located in Scott Bay, Harris County, Texas; and WHEREAS, an opportunity for open competition was given pursuant to the provisions of Section 73 of the Charter of the City of Baytown; and WHEREAS, all bids were opened and publicly read at City Hall at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 31, 1999; NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby accepts the bid of Exxon Pipeline Company in the amount of SIX THOUSAND AND NO /100 DOLLARS ($6,000.00) for the sale of the portion of St. Mary's Island owned by the City of Baytown, which amount is in excess of the market value of the Property. Section 2: That the Mayor of the City of Baytown, Texas, is hereby authorized and directed to execute the Quitclaim Deed for the sale of the aforementioned property. A copy of said Quitclaim Deed is attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A," and made a part hereof for all intents and purposes. Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
