Ordinance No. 8,464981124 -13 ORDINANCE NO. 8464 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING ® THE PAYMENT OF ONE HUNDRED THIRTY -EIGHT THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED FIFTY -EIGHT AND 95/10.0 DOLLARS ($138,858.95) TO HOUSTON - GALVESTON AREA COUNCIL FOR THE PURCHASE OF SIX (6) VEHICLES FOR THE HARRIS COUNTY ORGANIZED CRIME AND NARCOTICS TASK FORCE; MAKING OTHER PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. ************************************************************** * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown has approved an Interlocal Agreement which authorizes the Houston - Galveston Area Council to take bids for certain items on behalf of the City of Baytown; and WHEREAS, pursuant to such agreement, the Houston- Galveston Area Council has taken bids on six (6) vehicles for the Harris County Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force ( "HCOCNTF "); NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby authorizes the payment of ONE HUNDRED THIRTY -EIGHT THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED FIFTY -EIGHT AND 95/100 DOLLARS ($138,858.95) to the Houston - Galveston Area Council for the purchase of six (6) vehicles for the HCOCNTF. Section 2: That pursuant to the provisions of Texas Local Government Code Annotated § 252.048, the City Manager is hereby granted general authority to approve any change order involving a decrease or an increase in costs of FIFTEEN THOUSAND AND NO /100 DOLLARS ($15,000.00) or less, provided that the original contract price may not be increased by more than twenty -five percent (25 %) or decreased by more than twenty-five percent (25 %) without the consent of the contractor to such decrease. Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
