Ordinance No. 8,379980827 -7 ORDINANCE NO. 8379 ® AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF CHATHAM CONSTRUCTION COMPANY IN THE AMOUNT OF SIXTY -SIX THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY -FIVE AND NO/] 00 DOLLARS ($66,185.00) FOR THE SALE OF FIRE STATION NO. SIX, LOCATED AT 1401 MASS EY-TOM PKINS, BAYTOWN, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. WHEREAS, the City of Baytown, Texas, sought competitive bids for the sale of Fire Station No. Six, located at 1401 Massey - Tompkins, Baytown, Harris County, Texas (the "Property"); and WHEREAS, an opportunity for open competition was given pursuant to the provisions of Section 73 of the Charter of the City of Baytown; and WHEREAS, all bids were opened and publicly read at City Hall at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 21, 1998; NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby accepts the bid of Chatham Construction Company in the amount of SIXTY -SIX THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY -FIVE AND NO /100 DOLLARS ($66,185.00) for the sale of Fire Station No. Six, located at 1401 Massey- Tompkins, Baytown, Harris County, Texas. Section 2: That the Mayor of the City of Baytown, Texas, is hereby authorized and directed to execute the Quitclaim Deed for the sale of the aforementioned property. A copy of said Quitclaim Deed is attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A," and made a part hereof for all intents and purposes. Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown. W. Singleton Survey, A -809, and being part of that certain one (1) acre tract of land conveyed to E. E. McNulty and wife, Zora McNulty by deeds recorded in Volume 1265, at Page 452 of the Harris County Deed Records, and being part of that certain one (1) acre tract conveyed to E. E. McNulty and wife Zora McNulty by deed records in Volume 1296 at Page 451 of Harris County Deed Records and being part of that certain one acre tract conveyed to E. E. McNulty and wife Zora McNulty by Deed Recorded in Volume 1740, at Page 287, of the Harris County Deed Records Harris County, Texas and being more particularly described by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at the intersection of the East right of way line of Chaparral Drive (former Barkuloo Road Number 2) and the North right of way line of Massey Tompkins Road; THENCE, from the POINT OF BEGINNING, North 81 °10'27" East with the North right of way line of Massey Tompkins Road and the South line of this tract, a distance of 158.66 feet to a point; THENCE, North 110, 27', 28" West with the East line of a one acre tract as referenced by deed recorded in Volume 1740, at Page 287 of the Harris Count Deed Records, a distance of 167.90 feet to a point; Quitclaim Deed, Page I D(HIBrr A THENCE, South 79 °54 "22" West with the North line of this tract, over and across the above referenced tracts, a distance of 158.54 feet to a point situated in the East right of way line of Chaparral Drive; THENCE, South 11 027'28" East with the East right of way lie of Chaparral Drive, a distance of 164.38 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING, enclosing a tract of land containing 0.604 acres, more or less. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD all of TRANSFEROR'S right, title and interest in and to these premises, together with all and singular the rights, privileges, and appurtenances to the premises in any manner belonging to the TRANSFEREE, its successors and assigns forever, so that neither TRANSFEROR nor TRANSFEROR'S successors and assigns shall have, claim, or demand any right or title to the property described above, premises, or appurtenances, or any part of that property.
