ORDINANCE N0. 8191
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE DISCONTINUANCE OF AN AREA AS PART OF THE
® CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, BY DISANNEXING CERTAIN TEN -FOOT STRIPS LOCATED
NORTH OF INTERSTATE 10; MAKING OTHER PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO.
WHEREAS, there being no request for an "on- site" hearing, two public hearings before the City Council of
the City of Baytown, Texas, where all interested persons were provided with an opportunity to be heard on the
proposed disannexation of the property described in Section I of this ordinance, were held, one at 6:35 p.m. and the
other at 6:45 p.m., on the 22nd day of January, 1998, in the John Tucker Hall of Lee College, Baytown, Texas, which
date is not more than forty (40) nor less than twenty (20) days prior to the institution of annexation proceedings; and
WHEREAS, notices of such public hearings were published in a newspaper having general circulation in the
City of Baytown, Texas, and in the below described territories on the 9th day of January, 1998, which date is not more
than twenty (20) nor less than ten (10) days prior to the date of such public hearings; and
WHEREAS, the total corporate area of the City of Baytown, Texas, on the I st day of January, 1998, was 33.14
square miles and the population of the City of Baytown, Texas, is approximately 68,466 inhabitants; and
WHEREAS, the below- described territories lie within the incorporated limits of the City of Baytown, Texas;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown have conducted the disannexation proceedings of its own
accord pursuant to the Charter and the procedural rules prescribed by Chapter 43 of the Texas Local Government Code;
NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1: That the land and territories lying within the incorporated limits of the City of Baytown, more
particularly described in Exhibit "A," which is attached hereto and incorporated herein for all intents and purposes,
are hereby disannexed and discontinued as part of the area within the incorporated limits of the City of Baytown,
Texas.
Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby authorizes and directs the City
Manager to obtain the consent of Harris County Commissioners Court regarding this proposed disannexation prior to
the second reading hereof. Such consent shall be evidenced in writing and signed by an official with full authority
to bind Harris County.
Section 3: This ordinance shall be published and passed in the manner provided in Article I, Section 9,
of the Charter of the City of Baytown, Texas,

BEGINNING at a point in the Westerly right of way line of Crosby- Lynchburg Road, said point
being Northerly 200 feet from the North right of way line of State Highway No. 73;
THENCE, Northerly with the West right of way line of the Crosby- Lynchburg Road to the South
right of way line of State Highway No. 90;
THENCE Westerly with the South right of way line of State Highway No. 90 to the Easterly
shore of the San Jacinto River;

BEGINNING at the point of intersection of the North right of way line of State Highway No. 73
and the West right of way line of Crosby - Lynchburg Road;
THENCE, Northerly with the West right of way line of the Crosby — Lynchburg Road — a distance
of 200 feet;
THENCE, Easterly over and across the Crosby- Lynchburg Road to the East right of way line of
said Road;

distance of 21,120 feet South of the intersection of the South right of way line of U.S. Highway
No. 90 and the East right of way line of the Bohemian Hall Road;
THENCE in a Southerly direction along the East right of way line of Bohemian Hall Road
approximately 900 feet to the intersection of Bohemian Hall Road and State F.M. Highway
1942, also known as the Crosby -Cedar Bayou Road, then continuing on the same course across
State F.M. Highway 1942 to a point which is ten feet perpendicularly from the Southwest right
of way line of State F.M. Highway 1942;
THENCE, in a Southeasterly direction, ten feet from and parallel to the Southwest right of way
line of State F.M. Highway 1942 a distance of approximately 9,510 feet to a point for corner;

THENCE, in an Easterly direction a distance of ten feet along the existing City limit line of the

TRACT 6 (ORDINANCE NO. 883 -A)
BEGINNING at a point on the existing City limit line of the City of Baytown, said point being
more fully described as a point on the Southwest right -of -way line of State F.M. Highway 1942
at a distance of approximately 28,090 feet West of the intersection of the Easterly right -of -way
line of the Southern Pacific Railroad and the South right -of -way line of State F.M. Highway
1942, said distance being measured along the South and Southwest right of way line of the
highway;

THENCE, in a Northwesterly direction along the Southwest right -of -way line of State F.M.
Highway 1942, approximately 4,365 feet to a point fof corner on the existing City limit line of
the City of Baytown;
THENCE, in a Northeasterly direction, perpendicular to the Southwest right -of -way line of State
F.M. Highway 1942, a distance of ten feet to a point for corner;
THENCE, in a Southeasterly direction, ten feet from and parallel to the Southwest right -of -way
line of the highway approximately 4,365 feet to a point for corner on the existing City limit line

THENCE, in a Southwesterly direction a distance of ten feet along the existing City limit Iine of
the City of Baytown to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
TRACT 7 (ORDINANCE NO. 975 -A)
BEGINNING at a point on the existing City limit line of the City of Baytown, said point being
more fully described as being on the West bank line of Cedar Bayou at a distance of 10 feet
North of the South right of way line of State Highway No. 73 (Interstate Highway 10);
THENCE, the a generally Northwesterly direction, following the meanders of the West bank of
Cedar Bayou, to a point of intersection with the South right of way line of State Farm Market
Highway No. 1942; and then continuing in a Northerly direction approximately 10 feet to a point
for comer, said point being on the West bank line of Cedar Bayou at a distance 10 feet
perpendicular from the South right of way line of State Farm Market Highway No. 1942;
THENCE in an Easterly direction approximately 10 feet to a point for comer, said point being 10
feet perpendicularly from the West bank line of Cedar Bayou.
THENCE, in a generally Southeasterly direction, 10 feet from and parallel to the meanderings of
the West bank line of Cedar Bayou, to a point 10 feet from the South right of way line of State
Highway No. 73 (Interstate Highway 10);
THENCE, in a Southwesterly direction, 10 feet from and parallel to the South right of way line
of State Highway No. 73 (Interstate Highway 10), a distance of approximately 10 feet to the
