Ordinance No. 8,109971009 -10 ORDINANCE NO. 8109 n AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL; CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY -THREE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED NINETY -THREE AND 20/100 DOLLARS ($183,193.20) TO HOUSTON - GALVESTON AREA COUNCIL FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE -HALF (1 /2) TON, THREE- QUARTER (3/4) TON AND ONE (1) TON TRUCKS FOR THE CITY OF BAYTOWN ENGINEERING, UTILITY BILLING, STREET & DRAINAGE, PARKS & RECREATION, WATER SYSTEM AND INSPECTIONS DEPARTMENTS; MAKING OTHER PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. *********************************************** * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * ** WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown has approved an Interlocal Agreement which authorizes the Houston - Galveston Area Council to take bids for certain items on behalf of the City of Baytown; and WHEREAS, pursuant to such agreement, the Houston - Galveston Area Council has taken bids on one -half (1/2) ton, three - quarter (3/4) ton and one (1) ton trucks for the City of Baytown Engineering, Utility Billing, Street & Drainage, Parks & Recreation, Water System and Inspections Departments; NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby authorizes the payment of ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY -THREE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED NINETY -THREE AND 20 /100 DOLLARS ($183,193.20) to the Houston - Galveston Area Council for the purchase of eight (8) one -half (1 /2) ton trucks, two (2) three - quarter (3/4) ton trucks and one (1) one (1) ton truck for the City of Baytown Engineering, Utility Billing, Street & Drainage, Parks & Recreation, Water System and Inspections Departments. Section 2: That pursuant to the provisions of Texas Local Government Code Annotated § 252.048, the City Manager is hereby granted general authority to approve any change order involving a decrease or an increase in costs of FIFTEEN THOUSAND AND NO /100 DOLLARS ($15,000.00) or less, provided that the original contract price may not be increased by more than twenty-five percent (25 %) or decreased by more than twenty-five percent (25 %) without the consent of the contractor to such decrease.
