Ordinance No. 8,067970911 -12 ORDINANCE NO. 8067. AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE INDIVIDUAL AND AGGREGATE STOP LOSS COVERAGE WITH TRANS - GENERAL LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY, BROKERED THROUGH J. E. STONE & ASSOCIATES; AUTHORIZING CONSULTING SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH J. E. STONE & ASSOCIATES APPLICABLE TO THE CITY OF BAYTOWN'S MEDICAL AND DENTAL BENEFITS PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING PAYMENT BY THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, THE SUM OF ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY - THREE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED TWENTY AND NO/] 00 DOLLARS ($173,520.00); MAKING OTHER PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby accepts the individual and aggregate stop loss coverage with Trans - General Life Insurance Company, brokered through J. E. Stone & Associates. Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Baytown authorizes J. E. Stone to provide consulting services applicable to the medical and dental benefits program of the City of Baytown pursuant to the provisions of the Agreement which is attached hereto as Exhibit "A," and incorporated herein for all intents and purpose. Section 3: That the City Council hereby authorizes payment to J. E. Stone & Associates of the sum of HUNDRED SEVENTY -THREE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED TWENTY AND NO /100 DOLLARS ($173,520.00) for individual and aggregate stop loss coverage. Section 4: That pursuant to the provisions of Texas Local Government Code Annotated §252.048, the City Manager is hereby granted general authority to approve any change order involving a decrease or an increase in costs of FIFTEEN THOUSAND AND NO/] 00 DOLLARS ($15,000.00) or less, provided that the original contract price may not be increased by more than twenty -five percent (25 %) or decreased by more than twenty -five percent (25 %) without the consent of the contractor to such decrease. Section 5: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
