ORDINANCE NO. 7980
• AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF PROPERTY FROM COMMUNITIES
FOUNDATION OF TEXAS FOR THE GOOSE CREEK STREAM DEVELOPMENT
FUND; DIRECTING THE CITY CLERK TO FILE SAID DEED WITH THE COUNTY
CLERK OF HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS; AUTHORIZING PAYMENT OF THE SUM
OF NINE THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED THIRTY -FOUR AND 16/100 DOLLARS
($9,434.16) FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE PROPERTY; AND PROVIDING FOR THE
EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, authorizes the purchase of
certain property from Communities Foundation of Texas for the Goose Creek Stream Development Fund,
the owner of the property as described ,in Exhibit "A," and made a part hereof for all intents and purposes.
Section 2: That the City dierk is hereby dire'cted'`6 file the deed with the County Clerk of
Harris County, Texas.
Section 3: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby authorizes payment up to the
sum of NINE THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED THIRTY -FOUR AND 16 /100 DOLLARS ($9,434.16)
to Communities Foundation of Texas for the Goose Creek Stream Wetlands Education and Recreation
Center.
Section 4: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City
Council of the City of Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ AND PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City Council of the City of
Baytown this the 22nd day of May, 1997.

BEING a 2.156 acre tract of land situated in the William Scott

Upper League, Abstract No. 66, Harris County, Texas, and being
out of and a part of a 6.333 acre tract of land conveyed to the
Communities Foundation of Texas, Inc., by Northshore Lanes, Inc.,
by deed dated March 19, 1993, and recorded at County Clerk's File
Number P153358 of the Official Public Records of Real Property of
Harris County, Texas. This 2.156 acre tract of land is more
particularly described by.metes and bounds as follows, to -wit:
BEGINNING at a 1/2 inch iron rod for the Southeast corner of this
tract of land and the Southeast corner of said 6.333 acre tract
of land and in the North right of way line of Market Street.
THENCE South 63 deg 29 min 00 sec West with the South line of
this tract, the South line of said 6.333 acre tract of land and
the North right of way line of Market Street a distance of 249.05
feet to a point for the Southwest corner of this tract of land.
THENCE North 16 deg 10 min 00 sec West with the West line of this
tract of land a distance of 405.75 feet to a point for the
Northwest corner of this tract of land.
THENCE North 73 deg 50 min 00 'sec East with the North line of
this tract of land a distance of 245.00 feet to a point for the
Northeast corner of this tract of land in the East line of said
6.333 acre tract of land.
THENCE South 16 deg 10 min 00 sec East with the East line of this
tract and the East line of..taid 6.333 acre tract of land a
distance of 361.00 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING, containing
within said boundaries 2.156 acres of land.
