Ordinance No. 7,861961212 -4 ORDINANCE NO. 7861 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, TO ACCEPT A GRANT AWARD FROM THE U. S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE; DESIGNATING AN AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE, AUTHORIZING CREATION OF AN ADVISORY BOARD; PROVIDING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING; AUTHORIZING A CASH MATCH OF NINE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED THIRTY -SIX AND NO /] 00 DOLLARS ($9,836.00); AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to accept a Local Law Enforcement Block Grant, number 96LBVX1095 in the amount of EIGHTY -EIGHT THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED TWENTY -SEVEN and NO /] 00 DOLLARS ($88,527.00) from the United States Department of Justice for reduction of crime and improvement of public safety. Section 2: That the City Manager is hereby designated as the authorized representative for all purposes under the grant, and is authorized to execute all documents in connection with the grant. Section 3: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to make all reports, and assure compliance with all special conditions of the grant. Section 4: That the City's match in the amount of NINE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED THIRTY -SIX and NO/ DOLLARS ($9,836.00) is hereby authorized. Section 5: That there is hereby created an advisory board, to include a representative from the local police department or local sheriffs department, the local prosecutor's office, the local court system, the local public school system, and a local nonprofit, educational, religious or community group active in crime prevention or drug use prevention or treatment, and any other representatives deemed appropriate by City Council, Section 6: That said board is hereby ordered to hold a public hearing regarding the proposed use of the funds awarded under the grant.
