ORDINANCE NO. 7693
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 27 "SUBDIVISIONS," ARTICLE II
"PLATTING PROCEDURE," SECTION 27 -18 "DEPARTMENTAL REVIEW
(STAGE ONE), SUBSECTION (b)(1) AND SECTION 27 -20.2 "FINAL REVIEW
(STAGE THREE), SUBSECTION (d)(3) OF THE CODE -OF- ORDINANCES •OF
THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS; AND AMENDING CHAPTER 27
"SUBDIVISIONS" ARTICLE VI "MISCELLANEOUS," SECTION 27 -64 "SMALL
SUBDIVISIONS," SUBSECTION (b)(1) OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY
OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS; PROVIDING A REPEALING CLAUSE; CONTAINING
A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE
THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1: That Chapter 27 "Subdivisions," Article II "Platting Procedure," Section 27 -18
"Departmental review (stage one)," Subsection (b)(1) of the Code of Ordinances, City of Baytown,
Texas, is hereby amended to read as follows:
ARTICLE II. PLATTING PROCEDURE
Sec. 27 -18. Departmental review (stage one).
(b) Preliminary approval application: Applications for preliminary approval shall be made by
the owner, or his authorized agent, of all affected property and shall be filed on a form prescribed
by the city planning staff and filed with said department. Applications shall be accompanied by a
fee prescribed in the fee schedule, section 27 -22, and accompanied by the following information:
(1) Copies of the preliminary development plan of the entire development drawn to scale
and showing streets, utility easements, building lines, relevant operational data,
drawings and /or elevations clearly establishing the scale and open space. Such
development plan shall include a location map showing information on the
surrounding area within four hundred feet (400') of the development. A boundary
survey or a certified boundary description by a registered professional land surveyor,
plus contour information shall also be submitted. The elevation of all points used to
determine the contours shall be indicated on the preliminary plan and said points
shall be given to true elevation above mean sea level as determined by the city
engineer. The base data shall be clearly indicated and shall be compatible to city
datum, if bench marks are not adjacent. The following intervals are required:
a. One -foot (1') contour intervals for ground slopes up to five percent (5 %).
b. Two -foot (2) contour intervals for ground slopes between five percent (5 %)
and ten percent (10 %).

C. Five -foot (5') contour intervals for ground slopes exceeding ten percent
® (10 %). All elements listed in this paragraph shall be characterized as existing
or proposed and sufficiently detailed to indicate intent and impact.
Section 2: That Chapter 27 "Subdivisions," Article II "Platting Procedure," Section 27 -20.2
"Final approval (stage three)," Subsection (d)(2) of the Code of Ordinances, City of Baytown, Texas,
is hereby amended to read as follows:
ARTICLE II. PLATTING PROCEDURE
Sec. 27 -20.2. Final approval (stage three).
(d) The final plat shall show or be accompanied by the following data:
(2) A title including name of subdivision, owner or owners and the certification
of a registered professional land surveyor responsible for the plat, and the
scale and location of the subdivision with reference to original land grants or
surveys, the data and north point.
Section 3: That Chapter 27 "Subdivisions," Article VI "Miscellaneous," Section 27 -64
"Small subdivisions," Subsection (b)(1) of the Code of Ordinances, City of Baytown, Texas, is
hereby amended to read as follows:
ARTICLE VI. MISCELLANEOUS
Sec. 27 -64. Small subdivisions.
(b) Platting procedure.
(1) Submission. Application for preliminary approval shall be made by the owner or his
authorized agent and shall be made on a form prescribed by the city planning staff.
Applications shall be accompanied by a filing fee and accompanied by the following
information: Fifteen (15) copies of the preliminary development plan of the entire
development drawn to scale and showing streets or drives, utility easements, lots and
major landscaping features. A boundary survey or a certified boundary description
by a registered professional land surveyor shall also be submitted.
Section 4: All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent with the terms of this ordinance
are hereby repealed; provided however, that such repeal shall be only to the extent of such

inconsistency and in all other respects this ordinance shall be cumulative of other ordinances
regulating and governing the subject matter covered by this ordinance.
Section 5: If any _provision,. section, .exception, subsection,. paragraph,. sentence; clause or
phrase of this ordinance or the application of same to any person or set of circumstances, shall for
any reason be held unconstitutional, void or invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the validity of
the remaining provisions of this ordinance or their application to other persons or sets of
circumstances and to this end all provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
Section 6: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City
Council of the City of Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the City Council of the City
