ORDINANCE NO. 6840
• A ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN, TEXAS, TO MAKE APPLICATION TO THE CITY OF
HOUSTON FOR FIRST YEAR GRANT FUNDING FOR A PATROL OFFICER
ASSIGNED TO THE GULF COAST VIOLENT OFFENDERS TASK FORCE;
DESIGNATING AN AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE; AUTHORIZING THE
REPRESENTATIVE TO ACCEPT OR AFFIRM ANY GRANT AWARD THAT
MAY RESULT THEREFROM; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE
DATE THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is
hereby authorized to make application to the City of Houston for a
grant for first year funding for a patrol officer assigned to the
Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force ( "Operation Trident ") in
the amount of THIRTY -FIVE THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED AND N01100 DOLLARS
($35,900.00).
Section 2: That the City Manager is hereby designated as the
authorized representative for all purposes under the grant.
Section 3: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is
hereby authorized to accept or affirm any grant award that may
result from the above application.
Section 4: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from
and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED, by the affirmative vote of the
City Council of the City of Baytown this the 28th day of October,
1993.
