ORDINANCE NO. 6818
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN
ADDING CERTAIN PROPERTY TO COUNCIL DISTRICT NO. 5
REPEALING ORDINANCES INCONSISTENT HEREWITH; CONTAINING A
SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR THE PUBLICATION AND
EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, Section 17 (1) of the Charter of the City of
Baytown provides that the City Council shall redistrict the City
if the growth of the City justifies; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to include the newly annexed
territory described herein in a Council District; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: Council District No. 5 is hereby redistricted by
the addition of certain property which is described on the
attached Exhibit "A."
Section 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances
inconsistent with the terms of this ordinance are hereby
repealed; provided however, that such repeal shall be only to the
extent of such inconsistency and in all other respects this
ordinance shall be cumulative of other ordinances regulating and
governing the subject matter covered by this ordinance.
Section 3: If any provisions, section, exception,
subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase of this
ordinance or the application of same to any person or set of
circumstances, shall for any reason be held unconstitutional,
void or invalid, such invalidity shall not affect the validity of
the remaining provisions of this ordinance or their application
to other persons or sets of circumstances and to this end all
provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable.
Section 4: This ordinance shall take effect from and after
ten (10) days from its passage by the City Council. The City
Clerk is hereby directed to give notice hereof by causing the
caption of this ordinance to be published in the official
newspaper of the City of Baytown at least twice within ten (10)
days after passage of this ordinance.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED by the affirmative vote of the
City Council of the City of Baytown, this the 14th day of October,
1993.

Property Description for the Proposed
Annexation of Two Portions of Raccoon Drive
Between Forest Gate Subdivision and
Kingsbend Subdivision
Annexation I
BEGINNING at the southwest corner of Lot 15, Block 8 of
Kingsbend Subdivision Section 3, said corner being on the east
right -of -way line of Raccoon Drive and also on the existing city
limit line of the City of Baytown,
Thence, northward along the east right -of -way line of Raccoon
Drive to Cary's Bayou,
Thence, westward along the existing city limit line across
Raccoon Drive to the west right -of -way line of Raccoon Drive,
Thence, southward along the west right -of -way line of Raccoon
Drive to the existing city limit line, which is a projection of the
south boundary line of Kingsbend Subdivision Section 3, Block 8,
Thence, eastward across Raccoon Drive along the existing city
limit line to the POINT OF BEGINNING, encompassing an area of
approximately 1.414 acres.
Annexation II
BEGINNING at the northwest corner of Reserve A of Whispering
Pines Subdivision Section I, said point being-on the east right -of-
way line of Raccoon Drive and also on the existing city limit line,
Thence, westward across Raccoon Drive along the existing city
limit line to the west right -of -way Line of Raccoon Drive,
Thence, northward along the west right -of -way line of Raccoon
Drive to the northeast corner of Lot 1 of Forest Gate Subdivision,
Thence, eastward across Raccoon Drive along a projection of
the north boundary line of Forest Gate Subdivision to the east
right -of -way line of Raccoon Drive,
Thence, southward along the east right -of -way line of Raccoon
Drive to the POINT OF BEGINNING, encompassing an area of
approximately 3.379 acres.
