Ordinance No. 6,639930513 -16 ORDINXiCE NO. 6639 AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF CENTURY PAPERS, INC., MORSE WHOLESALE, AND BRAWNER PAPER CO., INC. FOR THE ANNUAL JANITORIAL PRODUCTS CONTRACT AND AUTHORIZING PAYMENT BY THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, THE SUM OF SEVENTEEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED TWENTY -SEVEN AND 56/100 DOLLARS ($17,527.56) ; MAKING OTHER PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown did authorize the Purchasing Department for the City of Baytown to advertise for bids for the annual janitorial products contract to be received March 29, 1993; and WHEREAS, notice to bidders as to the time and place, when and where the contract would be let was published pursuant to the provisions of Section 74 of the Charter of the City of Baytown; and WHEREAS, all bids were opened and publicly read at City Hall at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 29, 1993, as per published notice to bidders; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby accepts the bid of Century Papers, Inc. for Sections I, VII, and XI of the annual janitorial products contract for the sum of SIX THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED THIRTY -NINE AND 22/100 DOLLARS ($6,339.22), and authorizes payment thereof. Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby accepts the bid of Morse Wholesale for Sections II, III, IV, V, VI, VIII, and IX of the annual janitorial products contract for the sum of ELEVEN THOUSAND FORTY -SIX AND 84/100 DOLLARS ($11,046.84), and authorizes payment thereof. Section 3: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby accepts the bid of Brawner Paper Co., Inc. for Sections X of the annual janitorial products contract for the sum of ONE HUNDRED FORTY -ONE AND 50/100 DOLLARS ($141.50), and authorizes payment thereof. Section 4: That pursuant to the provisions of TEX. L.GOV'T.CODE ANN. § 252.048, the City Manager is hereby granted general authority to approve any change order involving a decrease or an increase in costs of FIFTEEN THOUSAND AND NO 1100 DOLLARS ($15,000.00) or less, subject to the provision that the original contract price may not be increased by more than twenty -five (25 %) or decreased by more than twenty -five (25 %) percent without the consent of the contractor to such decrease. 930513 -16a Section 5: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
