AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN
BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AND THE
ANNEXATION OF PARKWOOD PLACE, SECTION 2 AND 3; WHICH SAID
TERRITORIES LIE ADJACENT TO AND ADJOIN THE PRESENT
BOUNDARY LIMITS FOR THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, there being no request for an "on- site" hearing,
two public hearings before the City Council of the City of
Baytown, Texas, where all interested persons were provided with
an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of the
property described in Section 1 of this ordinance, were held, one
at 6:45 p.m. and the other at 7:40 p.m., on the 8th day of
April, 1993, in the City Council Chamber of the City Hall of the
City of Baytown, Texas, which date is not more than forty (40)
nor less than twenty (20) days prior to the institution of
annexation proceedings; and
WHEREAS, notices of such public hearings were published in a
newspaper having general circulation in the City of Baytown,
Texas, and in the below described territories on the 28th day of
March, 1993, which date is not more than twenty (20) nor less
than ten (10) days prior to the date of such public hearings; and
WHEREAS, the total corporate area of the City of Baytown,
Texas, on the 1st day of January, 1993, was 32.23 square miles; and
WHEREAS, the population of the City of Baytown, Texas, is
approximately 65,159 inhabitants; and
WHEREAS, the below described territories lie within the
extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Baytown, Texas; and
WHEREAS, the below described territories lie adjacent to and
adjoin the City of Baytown, Texas; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS:
Section 1: That the following described land and
territories lying adjacent to and adjoining the City of Baytown
are hereby added and annexed to the City of Baytown, Texas, and
shall hereinafter be included within the boundary limits of the
City of Baytown, Texas, and present boundary limits of such City,
at the various points contiguous to the areas hereinafter
described, are altered and amended so as to include said areas
within the corporate limits of the City of Baytown, Texas, to -wit:

Section 2: The above described territories and the areas so
annexed shall be a part of the City of Baytown, Texas, and the
property so added hereby shall bear its pro rata of the taxes

levied by the City of Baytown, Texas, and the inhabitants thereof
shall be entitled to all of the rights and privileges of all the
citizens of the City of Baytown and shall be bound by the acts,
ordinances, resolutions, and regulations of the City of Baytown,
Texas.
Section 3: In accordance with TEX.L.GOV'T.CODE ANN.
43.056, as amended, the service plan prepared by the City for
providing municipal services to the annexed areas is attached as
Exhibit "B" and is hereby approved.
Section 4: This ordinance shall be published and passed in
the manner provided in Article 1, Section 9, of the Charter of
the City of Baytown, Texas.
INTRODUCED, READ and PASSED on the FIRST READING this the

PARKWOOD PLACE SECTIONS NO. TWO AND THREE
BEING a 20.8834 acre tract of land situated in the Christian Smith
League, Abstract No. 69, Harris County, Texas, and being out of and
a part of a so- called 31.39 acre tract of land conveyed to William
R. Laughlin, Trustee, by deed recorded in volume 8316 at Page 53 of
the Deed Records of Harris County, Texas. This 20.8834 acre tract
of land is more particularly described by metes and bounds as
follows, to -wit:
BEGINNING at a 1/2 inch iron rod found for the Northeast corner of
this tract of land, the Northeast corner of said 31.39 acre tract
of land and the Southeast corner of FOREST GATE SUBDIVISION, in the
West right of way line of Raccoon Drive, 70 foot right of way.
THENCE South 09 deg 20 min 31 sec East with the East line of this
tract, the East line of said 31.39 acre tract and the West right of
way line of Raccoon Drive a distance of 893.13 feet to a 1/2 inch
iron rod found for the Eastern Southeast corner of this tract of
land and the Northeast corner of PARKWOOD PLACE SECTION NO. ONE
subdivision and the point of curvature of a curve to the right.
THENCE with the South line of this tract and

the point of tangency of said curve. This corner is in the East
right of way line of Parkbend Drive, 50 foot right of way.
THENCE South 81 deg 05 min 08 sec West with the South line of this
tract and the North line of Section No. One a distance of 50.00
feet to a 1/2 inch iron rod for a corner of this tract of land and
a corner of said Section No. One in the West right of way line of
Parkbend Drive.

rod found for the most Western Southeast corner of this tract and
the most Western Southwest corner of Section No. One in the South
line of said 31.39 acre tract of land.
THENCE South 75 deg 42 min 21 sec West with the South line of this
tract and the South line of said 31.39 acre tract a distance of
389.08 feet to a 1/2 inch iron rod found for the Southwest corner
of this tract and the Southwest corner of said 31.39 acre tract.
THENCE North 14 deg 56 min 15 sec West with the West line of this
tract and the West line of said 31.39 acre tract a distance of
839.60 feet to a 1/2 inch iron rod set for the Northwest corner of
this tract of land and the Northwest corner of said 31.39 acre
tract of land in the South line of FOREST GATE subdivision.

of FOREST GATE Subdivision a distance of 1181.17 feet to THE PLACE
OF BEGINNING, containing within said boundaries 20.8834 acres of
land.
