Ordinance No. 6,514930128 -6 ORDINANCE NO. 6514 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF ONE HUNDRED SIXTY -FOUR THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED NINETY -SEVEN AND 61/100 DOLLARS ($164,397.61) TO HOUSTON - GALVESTON AREA COUNCIL FOR THE LEASE PURCHASE OF DISPATCH CONSOLES; MAKING OTHER PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. WHEREAS, the City of Baytown went out for bids which were opened on January 11, 1993 for dispatch consoles for the combined police and fire dispatch; and WHEREAS, the City of Baytown has found it in the City's best interest to reject all bids and lease the needed equipment; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown has approved an Interlocal Agreement which authorizes the Houston - Galveston Area Council to take bids for certain items on behalf of the City of Baytown; and WHEREAS, pursuant to such agreement, the Houston- Galveston Area Council has taken bids on dispatch consoles. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: The City of Baytown hereby rejects all bids opened on January 11, 1993 for the purchase of dispatch consoles. Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby authorizes the payment of ONE HUNDRED SIXTY -FOUR THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED NINETY -SEVEN AND 61/100 DOLLARS ($164,397.61) to the Houston - Galveston Area Council for the lease purchase of dispatch consoles which includes a purchase price of $153,687.40, a Houston - Galveston Area Council administrative cost of $3,634.98, and an interest cost of $7,075.23. Section 3: That pursuant to the provisions of TEX.L.GOV'T.CODE ANN. S 252.048, the City Manager is hereby granted general authority to approve any change order involving a decrease or an increase in costs of FIFTEEN THOUSAND AND N01100 DOLLARS ($15,000.00) or less, provided that the original contract price may not be increased by more than twenty -five (25 %) percent or decreased by more than twenty -five (255%) percent without the consent of the contractor to such decrease.
